According to American Kennel Club, Great Pyrenees are described as being calm, patient, and smart. This large, majestic breed are known for their immense strength and power. As working dogs, this breed can often be a tad stubborn due to their 'independent thinker' personality.
Because of their temperament, Great Pyrenees don't always understand the point of training to sit or stay and may showcase their boredom by performing tasks slowly. When training, it's important to keep them engaged with positive reinforcement.
Rocky is a 113-pound Great Pyrenees who lives with his dog mom, Ann, in North Carolina. Ann rescued Rocky and he immediately became part of the family. They even have a routine where Rocky gets a treat when going outside and coming in back in.
