1. Does Invisible Fence® Brand Work For Dogs and Cats?
Invisible Fence® Brand has indoor and outdoor boundaries and solutions that both dogs and cats can use. We started customizing containment for dogs and cats over 45 years ago, when we shrunk the collar unit from 13 oz to 3 oz, so cats and smaller dogs can both where our collars comfortably. This collar is known as the MicroLite®. Computer Collar® Receivers have millions of settings adjustable based on size, age, breed, personality, temperament, behavior, need, etc. It’s the millions of customized settings that make us the best pet containment for dogs and cats.
2. Does Invisible Fence® Brand offer Multi-Pet Training?
Yes! Perfect Start™ Plus was developed in collaboration with leading animal behaviorists around the country to ensure dogs and cats learn boundaries without fear or distress. 3. Is Invisible Fence® Brand Safe For My Different Pets?
All pet owners strive to put the safety of their pets first when researching new toys, food, or systems, so it's no surprise that we get asked this question frequently! The static correction your pet feels is similar to walking on a carpet with socks and then touching a metal doorknob. The feeling or sensation doesn't hurt, but it does get your attention to where you pull your hand back. Many pets only feel the correction once or twice and don't challenge the system afterward.
Contrary to belief, electric fence collars do not cause burns either. Thermal burns occur at a frequency discharge of 3,000 to 5,0000 Hz from a source producing 5 amps. Invisible Fence® Brand Computer Collar® Receivers emit a maximum of 100 milliamps. That’s 2% of the power needed to create a burn (and about 40% less than the shock you’d received from a nylon carpet on a low-humidity day).

4. Can you train a cat to use an Invisible Fence® Brand System?
The process of training a cat to use an Invisible Fence® Brand system is similar to training a dog! Cats can be successfully trained to use the Invisible Fence® Brand system, both outdoors and indoors! Our featherweight MicroLite Computer Collar receiver is the smallest and most advanced collar available. Weighing in at just one ounce it’s easily worn by cats. Time, patience, and training are key factors for both cats and dogs on Invisible Fence.
5. How long does it take to train a pet to use an Invisible Fence® Brand System and learn new boundaries?
Invisible Fence® Brand requires a minimum of three weeks of training; however, we will work with your pets on additional training sessions until they are confident with their new boundaries and can safely play in their yard without going over the edge. If you try to rush the training process, you risk making your dogs or cats confused and fearful of their yard.
6. What if my pets have different schedules and needs?
Our Doorman™ Electronic Pet Door comes equipped with advanced safety technology that locks automatically, meaning only your pet has access and no unwanted critters or other pets can get in. This also means you can stop your cat from going out of the pet door or setting a schedule so your pets can only go out starting from early morning.
